Last night we were invited to join the Friends of the United Jewish Campaign of Cape Town (the group of expats who generously provide continued support to the Cape Town community) at their exclusive Summer Cocktail party held on the piazza of the Gardens Shul. My husband was asked to recite a special prayer and blessing for the occasion and as usual I was very proud of how well he spoke!
It was inspiring to see people who live their lives with the Jewish value of Tzedakah; of compassion, generosity and kindness. But Tzedakah isn’t only performed with money; it can be done with your time, resources, sometimes even just an encouraging word or smile to someone who is down. Every act of Tzedakah, big or small, is precious in the eyes of G-d. With so much negativity in the world may we all be inspired to increase in our acts of Tzedakah bringing light, warmth and love to our surroundings!
Here are some pictures of my outfit for the evening. When you're 37 weeks pregnant, it's not easy finding something to wear but my recent shopping spree in New York definitely helped :)
The dress is from a Maternity Store in Brooklyn called ‘Totally Her’. It is so comfortable that I bought the same dress in red too and the good thing is that it can be worn either as maternity or non maternity.
The shoes are Dolce Vita from Century 21 and with 75% off was very excited about finding this great deal!
My bag is MIchael Kors which my hubby gave me as a gift when he got back from his Rabbinic Conference in New York.
Tip: I did show him before he left which bags I like, don't expect your husbands to know your taste, they are usually neither prophets nor fashion experts :)
My husband's suit is from Zara and his tie is Penguin that I picked up at Century 21 – yes I am his personal shopper too! His shoes are from Aquilla the best men's shoe store that I have seen in Australia.
Wishing you all a Happy 2015!!
Thank you to Talia Wiesenbacher from A1000words Photography for the pictures!
