This past Shabbos at the Gardens Shul was truly magical! For those of you who watched the video that I sent out last week will know that the Shul we are privileged to be a part of, is celebrating 175 years since it's founding in 1841.
To kick off the year of celebrations we asked all the couples who were married at the Shul in the past 175 years to send in their wedding photo - some families went as far back as four generations married at the Shul, and to join us for a group picture before the Friday night service.
This was part of a monthly program we do called Friday Night Live. November is the anniversary of when we started Friday Night Live eight years ago and it is always an extra special celebration. This year it was dedicated to the launch of the 175 celebrations by celebrating all who were married at the Shul over the years.
When the couples arrived at Shul there were cocktails and a jazz band playing, creating a festive, wedding vibe, and it was followed by the beautiful group picture.
My husband and I are blessed with an amazing group of volunteers who help us with our events and I'm so grateful for all the hours of work they put in to help make the Friday Night Live such a unique and special occasion.
I was mentioning this wonderful celebration to my gym trainer and she gave me an idea to go to a vintage store and try and find a beautiful lace dress to fit into the wedding theme.
I found a stunning dress (see picture) at Shirley Fintz vintage store on Park Rd by the Kundilini Yoga studio. It's a really calm and beautiful space - like Shirley herself, and you will definitely walk out with something different and special.
Just a little tip for those of you who have dresses that are see through - I bought a body dress from Cotton On that I wear under such dresses and it's so much more comfortable and easier than putting on a top and skirt underneath.
